Michał Nowakowski

Lawyer/Associate

A lawyer specialising in Immigration Law and the legalisation of the work of foreigners in Poland, he has graduated in law from the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, Wrocław University.

Michał set out on his professional career at the Santander Consumer Bank’s debt recovery department in Wrocław when still a student. He gained more experience in execution proceedings while working for one of the largest Polish debt recovery companies.

His professional expertise, however, covers Immigration Law. It was the field in which he worked in 2017–2019 as a provincial inspector for foreigners at the Lower Silesian Provincial Office in Wrocław. He handled applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, long-term EU residence, replacement of a residence card and a work permit. In addition, he was responsible for giving answers to interpellations by deputies and drafted answers for such bodies as the Commissioner for Human Rights, public prosecutors’ offices or district courts.

At SPS Tax and Law, Michał makes use of his earlier experience in his work as member of the Immigration Desk team and an Immigration Law specialist. He handles cases involving Administrative Law and Procedure. In particular, he represents clients and their employees in proceedings before the wojewoda (provincial governor) and second-instance bodies in matters of legalising residence and work in Poland.

He speaks English.
